It's not. I am up to my neck in people who think Avatar is anime. It's NOT. It is Americans trying to make an anime but failing miserably and painfully. When you try to make anime and you do it the wrong way it's murder to watch, I don't care how good the show is.

I'm going to an anime expo in May and I PROMISE I will slap the first person I see cosplaying Avatar.

Do the world a favor. Save lives. Leave the anime to the Japanese please.

I'm not attacking your beloved Avatar, I am simply stating that it is American animation, not anime (which is, in fact, a word for JAPANESE animation. Not American. Not British. Not friggin Russian. JAPANESE.) I am not shining a negative light on your show, I am shining a negative light on people that can't tell the simple and obvious difference between genuine anime and people trying to make a copy of it. I'm sure Avatar is a fantastic show, it's just not anime. I never said 'Avatar can go eat crap and die', I simply said it isn't anime. Nothing you say can change my mind, so all of you just wasted a good amount of your lives trying to tell me that Avatar is anime just so I can hide your comment without reading it, so I congratulate you.
